Morgan Blue came to life in 1994. The years before, lubricants for car and farm businesses were produced under the title ‘Morgan Oils’.
In 1994 Nick Vandecauter, former mechanic at the Lotto team, asked to produce oil for bikes. Morgan Oils responded to the request and made several types of oil. After extensive testing of these samples, they were fine-tuned and Morgan Oils started sponsoring the Belgian Lotto and French Casino team, without actually distributing products in the bike industry.
In a next stage, Morgan Oils developed a chain cleaner. By adding certain additives, the degreaser turned into blue. A lot of people talked about ‘Morgan Blue’, which became the new company name.
The distribution in Belgium was launched by an oil, a degreaser and a grease. Through the years, the range of maintenance products for the bike extended and in 2005 even massage products were added, in order to offer a complete package to the bike industry. Morgan Blue produces exceptional quality products for both the bike and the rider. All these products are made in-house to their exacting standards to offer the highest level of performance.
Anno 2014 Morgan Blue presents 53 maintenance and 15 massage products. For the bike, Morgan Blue produces lubricants, greases, cleaning and maintenance products for all applications and seasons. For the rider, Morgan Blue produces a range of seasonal warm up oils, washes and creams using natural ingredients that have been tried and tested on the World Tour. The company is represented all over the world from China to Australia, from Norway to South-Africa, from the USA to Japan…
Year by year Morgan Blue sponsored more and more professional cycling teams. Today more than 60% of the chains and more than 20% of the legs in the World Tour peloton circle with Morgan Blue oil on it. Over 20 professional cycling teams choose for the products of Morgan Blue. This collaboration is not only a transfer of products towards the teams. There exists an interaction thanks to the close cooperation with mechanics, soigneurs and the riders themselves. This feedback from the professional cycling environment is used to improve the products continuously and was also a sign for the company to start producing competition lubricants.
Due to the constant growth, a new establishment was necessary. In 2014 the heart of Morgan Blue moved from Kruishoutem to Jabbeke, where the capacity has been doubled.
